Kaitlyn conley
Kaitlyn Conley is a 24 year old woman who was wrongfully convicted of manslaughter in Oneida County, New York on November 6th, 2017. Despite the DA’s attempts to paint her as a devious, cold, vindictive murderer, those who know Katie are sound in their beliefs that she is completely innocent.
Katie is a loving sister, aunt, daughter, cousin, niece, and friend to many. One of seven daughters, Katie has always been surrounded by a close and devoted family. As a daughter of a former Army Major, Katie has been raised to have certain values and morals instilled in her; these being respect, honor, hard work, trustworthiness, and kindness above all else.
Katie has often been described as being smart and driven. She was an avid tennis player, playing competitively both at the high school and collegiate level. After graduating from Sauquoit High School in the top ten percent of her class, she moved on to get an Associate’s Degree from Mohawk Valley Community College in Liberal Arts. Following that degree, she continued taking classes from both Utica College and State of New York Polytechnic Institute, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Business in May of 2016 and finishing her final semester with a 4.0 average. She has been invited into National Honor Society, both in high school and in college.
In addition to being a full time college student and maintaining an impressive GPA, Katie also stayed busy working at Family Chiropractic Care as an office manager, managing billing and scheduling, running the front desk, and attending to the daily needs of the business. After shifts at the office, Katie also cared for an elderly shut-in in the community, spending hours each evening cleaning, cooking, shopping, and running errands for her. She also was an entrepreneur, running her own painting business.
She is a practicing Catholic and is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Utica. Growing up, she would attend and volunteer at St. Patrick’s - St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. She also would volunteer with the local Rotary Club each year to set up the town’s Nativity scene. Katie has also received her First Communion and Confirmation through the Syracuse Diocese.
From a young age, Katie has always had a soft spot in her heart for animals. Over the years, Katie has rescued many animals and given them a loving home. Her collection of rescue animals includes horses, chickens, goats, a donkey, and several stray cats. It was not unusual for her to spend hours outside caring for her animals.
Katie is also an avid traveler, having traveled to Ireland, Germany, the Bahamas, Canada, and across America in several cross country road trips. Her family also enjoys planning camping trips and taking vacations together. Katie has always expressed a desire to travel the world and experience different cultures before settling down to raise a family.
Anyone who knows Katie can attest to her kind, generous soul. Friends describe Katie as being witty, supportive, friendly, and outgoing. She always knows how to make someone smile. She is always willing to help others, as that is how she was raised. To say that she is strong is an understatement.Katie has been adamant about her innocence regarding this matter. She loved Dr. Mary and it breaks her heart to know that the truth has not come out. An injustice for Katie does not equate to justice for Mary Yoder.
